January 16: EBR Mortgage Finance Authority launches $20 million program for homebuyers

Welcome to the EBRMFA Website

Our Vision. The EBRMFA will be seen as a catalyst for safe and affordable housing and economic development activities that will lead to home ownership, and will seek to find creative solutions to funding parish needs in these areas. The MFA will continue to be a nationally-recognized housing authority.

Through our participating lenders, the East Baton Rouge Mortgage Finance Authority provides mortgages to qualified buyers at competitive interest rates. In addition, the Authority provides assistance of 4 percent of the loan amount to help borrowers pay a portion of their down payment and/or closing costs.

The Authority’s mortgage loan programs (Click here for programs) are available to moderate and low-income homebuyers in East Baton Rouge Parish and through Dec. 31, 2009, to those who previously owned a home. (Click here for qualifications) The Authority does not provide mortgages directly to consumers. Purchasers must originate their mortgage through one of our participating lenders.
